This project was specially important to me as I do identify as a Bisexual and Non-binary person, that for most of my adult life didn't feel comfortable wearing pride merch as it tends to be quite easily identified.
It all started with the observation that certain flowers, when put together, reminded me of bisexual flag with its purple, pink and blue colors. My favorite kind, the hydrangeas specifically could also be arranged that way and alongside the knowledge that flowers have had whole books written about their secret meanings, it felt quite poetic to attribute my own portion of meaning to them.
Then, once I researched and listed the many different pride flags, I shared my vision on twitter which was received with great expectation. From then on I shared my processed there and developed 23 enamel pins total.
The Kickstarter campaign went live and we reached our initial goal in under 5 minutes. From then on it was a great surprise to see the community supporting us and celebrating their pride with these beautiful flowers.
